Das interdisziplinäre Projekt "Transient Spaces - The Tourist Syndrome" untersucht über zwei Jahre mit Workshops, Seminaren, Künstlerresidenzen und Ausstellungen und Ausstellungen in Italien, Rumänien, Litauen und Deutschland Themen wie Tourismus, Migration und neuen Formen flexiblen Lebens. Zum Abschluss gibt es in Kreuzberg eine Doppelausstellung an zwei Orten mit 25 künstlerischen Positionen.

Architects and designers present their latest projects to each other and the wide public at the vol. 19th edition of Pecha Kucha Night Budapest! 

As always, we stick to the 20 by 20 rules of Pecha Kucha: each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. This simple rule keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show. This time we will also hear about the Venice Architecture Biennale and see some Hungarian designers who were introduced by WAMP at the Helsinki Design Week.

As a closing event for the exhibition Behind the Counter, Műcsarnok hosts a one-day conference, “No Commission,” which explores the presentation, as well as the methods and conceptual characteristics, of art that deals with social issues. Some of the artists and curators who have contributed to Behind the Counter will talk about the creative processes in whose focus stand social, economic and political issues and phenomena. How much research is needed to prepare such a work? How well-founded do they need to be scientifically? What is the relationship of the scientific and the artistic aspect of these works? How can certain space, period- and subject-specific works be incorporated in the texture of a new exhibition and discourse?

The Emerging Art Fair
After last year's successful edition in the main hall of Tempelhof Airport, PREVIEW BERLIN – The Emerging Art Fair is once again moving to Hangar2 for its sixth edition. 60 exhibitors from 19 countries were accepted for the PREVIEW BERLIN 2010, and will provide an outstanding overview on the art of our time. This year's fair concept, which was developed out of the experience from the last five years, is considered to be both a summarisation of previous fair concepts and proclamation of a new fair format for 2011.
Hailed by the Tagesspiegel in September 2009 as the "hub of Berlin's autumn art fairs", the PREVIEW BERLIN has advanced to become the crucial event of the Berlin fair week. Last year, more than 10,000 art enthusiasts visited the fair for sculpture and installation in the monumental main hall of Tempelhof Airport.
PREVIEW BERLIN – the platform for promising Berlin-based, national and international galleries as well as independent art spaces – celebrated its first edition in 2005. The fair is directed by two gallerists and one artist: Kristian Jarmuschek (Galerie Jarmuschek + Partner), Rüdiger Lange (loop – raum für aktuelle kunst) and Ralf Schmitt (MyVisit.to).
The directors consider this year's focus on art from Eastern European countries to be an important enrichment of Berlin's fair week – an element which had been missing until now.
"Berlin is one of the most important gates to Eastern Europe. Many Eastern European artists have found a second home in Berlin," explains Ralf Schmitt. "Berlin, as a creative capital in Europe, can no longer ignore the influence that can clearly be felt in the city due to artists from these countries," adds Rüdiger Lange. "There are up-and-coming art scenes and high-quality art in these countries. Our task as an international fair for emerging art is it to seek out and present these trends," Lange continues.
Similar to the 2007 and 2008 editions, the PREVIEW BERLIN will once again be held in Hangar2 of Tempelhof Airport this year.

A total of 60 exhibitors will be included in the PREVIEW BERLIN 2010. With participants from 19 countries, it will be the most international edition of the fair to date.
Under the focal point of Eastern Europe, several galleries and project spaces will be presented, including Galerija Marisall from Zagreb, Mâksla XO from Riga, PROGRAM Gallery from Warsaw, Krokus Gallery from Bratislava, Alkatraz Gallery and Equrna from Ljubljana and ACB Galeria from Budapest.

Die Illusion der Rebellion

Die sechste Einzelausstellung der Reihe „Super Reactive Subjects im Senatsreservenspeicher hinterfragt mit den Arbeiten von Nasan Tur die (Un)möglichkeiten subversiven Handelns. Zwischen Revolutionsästhetik, -romantik und -praxis sucht der international renommierte Künstler die unscharfe Grenze zwischen Realität und Schein der Rebellion: Durch kleinste Eingriffe, beispielsweise in den Kontext subversiver Praktiken, werden deren Brüche und Zwiespalte sichtbar.Im Zentrum der Ausstellung steht eine eigens geschaffene, ortspezifische Videoinstallation. Sie lässt die Besucher den existentiellen Charakter eines subversiven Vorhabens erahnen, dessen Ziel jedoch im Dunklen bleibt. Die Illusion der Rebellion zeigt sich gerade in dieser endlosen Vorbereitung, in dem andauernden Aufbruch mit ungewissem Zweck und Ausgang. Zusätzlich wird, wie in vielen anderen Arbeiten des Künstlers, ein Bezug zum öffentlichen Stadtraum hergestellt. Im Licht der Rebellion verschmelzen Kunst- und Realraum. Die Arbeiten von Nasan Tur wurden seit 1999 in zahlreichen internationalen Ausstellungen gezeigt, von der Schirn Kunsthalle, über die Istanbul Biennale bis hin zur Einzelschau im Stuttgarter Kunstmuseum. Sein breites Werk wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet, zuletzt erhielt er das Stipendium der Stiftung Kunstfonds.
