Karim Rashid in Budapest

The Egyptian-English star designer Karim Rashid visited Budapest on 3rd February to give a lecture at MOME University of Art and Design. In connection with this open lecture we could visit a mini expo, a compilation of his works.
In an interview, concerning a question about a possible hungarian design project he replied: ’ I have never worked with any Hungarian company so far, but I would like to cooperate with a table ceramic or porcelain manufacture in the near future.’
Rashid’s work can be described with the word sensuality or ’sensual minimalism’ which was born from the marriage of organic design and pure geometry. As a response to the clear, rigid and boring world of minimalism. His style is melted with the lollipop colours - so specific to him -, with digital op-art patterns and other signs too.
